Support a child.
The Vicariate supports more than 2000 children providing food, school uniforms and school fees...

Two-room houses for orphans.
Due to the very high percentage of HIV/Aids in this area, many children are now orphans and many times living in shacks. The Vicariate does not have an orphanage but tries to make sure the children are able to remain in the own community. The cost of a two-room house is R25000 – 27000 (US 3600 – 3900 / Euro 2700 – 3000).

One Catholic, one Bible.
We'd like to subdise Bibles for the children and youth and offer them a Bible at half of the price. The cost of a Bible is R 70 (US 10 / Euro 7.50).

Buy a brick (St Lucia Formation and Retreat Centre)
We'd like to make of St Lucia a training and spiritual centre for the service of the Vicariate and the Church in South Africa.

Water for the community.
We have identified some areas of the Vicariate that are in desperate need of water. Our project is to offer them boreholes which will be placed next to one of our Churches and service the community of the area.

Micro-credit program fund.
Since 2009 we have started a kind of “micro-credit program” to support local community income generating programs. The fund lends money for a year to groups who present in writing a feasible project (food security, crafts...) and the groups returns monthly a small amount. This allows us to support them again in the future or other groups who would come with new projects. Any contribution to the fund helps us make this possible.

Formation of leaders.
The Vicariate organizes regular training of leaders (catechists, funeral leaders, Home Based Carers (HBC) and Orphan and Vulnerable Children Carers (OVCC), mission council members, finance committee members and others). The expense is divided between the Mission and the Vicariate.

Incentives for Home Based Carers (HBC) and Orphan and Vulnerable Children Carers (OVCC).
One of the key-elements of the Aids project (looking after the sick and vulnerable children) is the work of our volunteers. Unfortunately unemployment is very high in the area and most of volunteers do not have any kind of income. That is why we'd like to support them with R 700 per month (US 100 – Euro 75)

Formation of seminarians for the local Church.
The Lord is blessing the Vicariate with vocations for the local Church. The yearly cost of their studies and lodging is R 80.000 (US 11.500 / Euro 8.700) per student.
