"Ngiyabonga" by Mr AM Ntimbane

Friday 4 November. The staff and students of Star of the Sea High School, together with members of the community and the Church, gathered for the farewell of Mr Michael Ntimbane who had been the School Principal since 1994 until the end of 2010. It was a joyful and familiar celebration.
We started with the celebration of the Mass presided by Bp José Luis IMC and concelebrated by the Vicar General, Fr D. Doherty OSM, the priest in charge of Star of the Sea Fr T. Ntsele OSM and Fr M. Mthembu OSM.
It was a thanksgiving Mass. We gave thanks to God for this 16 years Mr Ntimbane was the principal. Following Mt 25,20 proclaimed during Mass, the Bishop said this was the time for Mr Ntimbane to say: "Sir you entrusted me with five talents; here are five more that I have made".
All the speeches after Mass underlined his different talents, being a man for the school ("you'll find him until late working in his office"), a developer, a man of the community being present at different events and working with other schools in the area.
Speeches were followed by gifts and his farewell address (which can be downloaded from the link above). Before the final prayer, Mr Ntimbane joined the school choir to sing once again the hymn of Star of the Sea School.
