Like we do every two months, this morning we gathered at Riverview to reflect together. This was the first meeting of the year. The particular thing was the presence of not only the priests but also the Sisters and even our diocesan seminarians!
After some time at home each one of them is joining one of our Missions for a couple of weeks. Dominic Mhlongo and Gcina Ngubane are at Ubombo with Fr Nkosi, Khethani Manqele is at Hlabisa with Fr Msweli and Fr Phoseka and Bhungane Radebe is at Ingwavuma with Fr V. Mthembu.
The joined our meeting from beginning to end (they probably thought they would be waiting outside and only join us for lunch...!) and could be part of our sharing on the different topics of the day: "a pastoral letter on finances", "plan of meetings of the year", "pastoral visits to the communities", the document of the African Synod, the Kairos Southern Africa document and others.
We also enjoyed the visit of Sr Selina Baloyi from the Nardini Sisters working in Kokstad Diocese. Sr Baloyi was born at Ngwanase Mission and was staying at home on holidays for a few days. It was also a good opportunity for us to be with her and to thank God for the number of women from our Vicariate who have been called to be Sisters in the different religious congregationgs.
