New priests!

E-mail Print PDF
Thursday 16 December 2010. Though it had been raining for three days, nothing stopped the people from attending the ordination to the priesthood of Mandlenkosi Bongumusa Msweli (from Ubombo Mission) and Vukani Johannes Phoseka (from Ingwavuma Mission) by Bishop José Luis IMC.
Fr Vusi Mthembu (on the left) coordinated the celebration. The choirs of the different Missions led the hymns.
This was the first ordination of Bishop José Luis and the Vicariate now counts with 8 diocesan priests and 6 religious priests.
Before the final blessing the Bishop thanked the Servants of Mary who have been working in the Vicariate for 62 years. Their commitment to building the local Church made possible these ordinations.
With a grateful heart we also remembered the late Bishop Michael O'Shea OSM who welcomed Mandla and Vukani as seminarians of this Vicariate.
From 2011 the Vicariate will have 5 seminarians at St John Vianney Seminary in Pretoria.
